Interests related to Fairtrade

I am passionate about fairtrade. Making it the context for my PhD research is ample testament to my interest in social equity particularly for commodity producers in developing countries. Having a family background in agriculture (a proud grandson of cocoa farmers) in Ghana, and pursing a BSc (Hons) Agricultural degree, I do connect well with the ethos of fairtrade as a certification towards reducing poverty in developing countries, where many commodity producers reside.

In addition to my scholarly and academic achievements in Europe and Africa, I am confident that having a presence on the Fairtrade Campaigning Steering Group provides a voice from the Global South and Africa, as well as providing a different perspective into sustainability, itself a major pillar of Fairtrade.
